Use this map to take self-guided tours through downtown Flushing and Willets Point. Each route highlights recent real estate development, and surrounding ecology. For 25 years, politicians and developers have been collaborating to transform the Flushing waterfront using a three-point plan: 1) reconnect downtown Flushing, 2) revitalize the Flushing waterfront, 3) and redevelop Willets Point. In 2019 3 developers, F+T Group, United Construction and Development Group, and Young Nian Group, alongside the Department of City planning, proposed the creation of the Special Flushing Waterfront District (SFWD). This map focuses primarily on the SFWD and surrounding properties owned by F+T Group, using site plans and massing diagrams as submitted to the NYC Dept. of Buildings. Graphics by Michael Lawlor.
