PARK PURPOSES
WILLETS POINT, NYC - 2018
Inspired by language used in a document supporting the Port Authority of NY + NJ LaGuardia AirTrain Request for Proposals describing the Flushing Meadows - Corona Park World’s Fair Marina / Malcolm X Promenade not as park land but as “…an area that serves park purposes but is adjacent to the highway and surface parking lot…,” Park Purposes facilitates the use of City owned land along Flushing Creek for park purposes. Tires recovered from Kissena Corridor Park were relocated to the west coast of Flushing Creek and attached to the Van Wyck Expressway using 25ft dock ties to create a set of swings.
